Team Tiveria very nearly beat the powerhouse of Team Hevron. Though it has taken a couple of weeks for Team Tiveria to “come together” as a team, they definitively showed the league today that they can play soccer with anyone. Though all of Team Tiveria played beautifully and as a team, one player played particularly well. He played hard, he played smart, and he was a mensch. Boy’s K’tana (Four Malochim) League
Play Hard
In soccer, there are great goals and there are great shots. Possibly the best shot in the league thus far this season occurred during the Team Rafael vs. Team Uriel game. The player from Team Rafael who took this shot was at least 20 yards away from Team Uriel’s goal. He stole the ball from Team Uriel, took one step, and hit one of the hardest shots this league has seen thus far. Though the ball sailed barely wide of the goal, any soccer-loving person will never forget this shot. This player is best known for his talents as a goalie for Team Rafael. Yet, this week, this player showed he has an excellent shot as well. This player, and the Hapoel Silver Spring “Play Hard” Player of the week is… Shmueli Mark.

Play Smart
There are three “Play Smart” players of the week this week.
Team Uriel and Team Michael have proven themselves to be two of the hardest working teams in the league. Every game they show up to play and they show up to win. They play hard, they play smart, and they are mensches. One player epitomizes the strong work and mental toughness of Team Uriel while one player epitomizes the strong work and mental toughness of Team Michael. Every week, on both offense and defense, these two players shows up and play hard, play smart, and are big mensches. Not only do they work extremely hard all over the field, but… the player for Team Uriel assisted Sammy Melman on his goal this week and the player for Team Michael had three assists in Team Michael’s win. Be a Mensch
Team Michael has yet to lose this season. After three games, Team Michael has only been scored upon twice. Team Michael is a “scary” team to play. Team Gavriel was playing a very good team and…they only had four players! Team Gavriel faced Team Michael and had every reason to be afraid of playing them. But, this was NOT the case. Team Gavriel worked hard. Team Gavriel played smart. And, above all, the players of Team Gavriel were big, Big, BIG Mensches. Team Gavriel scored a goal on Team Michael through Yitzie Feldman and went into halftime WINNING 1-0. Due to their lack of players, Team Gavriel lost to Team Michael. But, no one can deny, that this week Team Gavriel showed everyone that they can play soccer with anyone in this league. The “Mensch” players of the week, for their courageous performance against Team Michael, are the players from Team Gavriel… Aaron Komarow, Yoni Jaffe, Yitzie Feldman, and Dovid Nachman Fisher.
